Lochwinnoch Park Olympics - Team Events

Okay Lochwinnoch, let's get out there and raise some money to improve our Park. We've put together a number of events that will help us do two things: 1). Raise money to pay for a complete redevelopment of this recreational space, to make it better for all ages. 2). Help us demonstrate to main funders that the community really supports this idea.

It will also be fun and help you keep fit; This event is going live 1st April and your chosen event can take place any time within that month. (If you would rather compete as an individual you can find the registration form here: https://forms.gle/Gecw9ENVGLPDW4M39)

For these events we ask that while you compete as a team, you carry out the activities in line with current COVID guidance, and don't get together in groups. Each team should be made up of five individuals, of any age, and you need a Team Leader. Unlike the Individual Events, there is a a competitive element to the Team Events and you will be competing against others within your category. Your Team Leader will be responsible for collating your data and entering it on to an app which we shall send you details of before we go live.

Which Event are you taking part in? *

Sponsored NOT Walk (All ages): This event is for any age group and involves your whole team doing as many circuits of the playing field NOT walking, as possible; You can jump, hop, skip, dance, forward roll, cartwheel, but we suggest avoiding the temptation to make this a swimming event; If the river is high or there is any flooding, please find an alternative route or choose a different day. The winning team is the one to complete the most number of circuits collectively.

Sponsored Scoot / Cycle (Suggested age under 14s): Can each of your Team Members complete the BMX track 10 times during the month of April on their bike or scooter? The winning team is the one to get all ten Team Members to this target first.

Sponsored Long Distance Cycle Challenge (Suggested age over 14s): This event is a race to cover 300km collectively. The winning Team is the first to reach this target. It can be carried out in any number of shorter routes, but we ask that each Team Member begins their first and ends their last in the park.

Sponsored Step Challenge (All ages): This event is a race to clock up the most number of steps during the month of April. Your team members can each contribute in any number of steps from their individual runs/walks, but the first has to begin at the park and the last one has to end there.

Alternative Event: Can you think of something you would like to do that isn't covered in the above events? Maybe you would like to do a sponsored litter pick? Can you raise another team to compete against or maybe you just want to set your own target to work towards.
