Are you interested in working in the technology industry? This free training opportunity might be perfect for you!  WorkSource Portland Metro is sponsoring training on information technology (IT), which will be provided at no cost to participants and leads to a CompTIA A+ credential and IT job opportunities. During this 9-week full-time training, you’ll learn the fundamental skills necessary for a successful career in IT. This training is offered live on a virtual platform. If you successfully complete this training and pass the exams, you will earn the CompTIA A+ certification. In addition, graduates are connected to local area employers for jobs.
You must register and complete enrollment for WorkSource to attend this online training. Services are intended to increase opportunities for community members who haven’t historically had access to good IT and technology jobs.
TRAINING LOCATION: Online via live virtual platform
TRAINING DATES: 9 weeks, Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm (TBD)
TRAINING COST: Training is sponsored by WorkSource and free for participants. Additional supports may be available to help participants successfully access and complete training.
TRAINING ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates must be:
• Eligible and fully registered with participating WorkSource programs
• Interested in working in IT/tech and comfortable with computers
• Willing to work closely with career coaches and available to participate in full-time and intensive training
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
