The study of James Bond is a study of the art of reinvention.  His globe-trotting exploits have commanded the screen for nearly six decades — and often by transcending problematic source material and dubious industrial influences.  Remarkably, the films are even more popular today than they were when the series first began.

Gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to stay relevant and breathe new life into such well-worn intellectual property.  Marvel at the astonishing creative and financial risks the filmmakers have taken time and again to deliver fresh adventures and evolve with a changing global audience.

The purpose of this course is to deconstruct the unique alchemy of actors, producers, scripts and cultural influences that have made agent 007 the hero of the longest-running franchise in cinema history and by extension gain insight into how to subvert audience expectations, while still delivering satisfaction.
