What size t-shirt do you wear? (No guarantee of t-shirts this year...but asking just in case) *
Cost & Other Determining Factors
The fee for the conference is highly variable, depending on what we want to get out of it. For example, if we want to order delegation t-shirts, we can do that, but the cost will be slightly higher than if we didn't, etc. We are committed to keeping this conference as affordable as possible (under $100).
The conference will take place virtually over 4-5 consecutive days. The following are the dates that the conference administration currently has earmarked, keeping in mind that we will be looking for just a subset of these days. Please mark ALL dates that you would be available/prefer. *
Required
Do you have any notes to add regarding your availability over this set of dates?
Do you have an interest in ordering delegation t-shirts this year (just one per delegate, since we won't be able to trade with other states)? *
Do you have interest in getting any other commemorative gear (we typically do water bottles)? *
IF public health allows (big if...), would you be interested in getting at least some of our delegation together in person for a retreat and/or conference activities? *
Media Program
Right now, I have all Wisconsin delegates penciled in under the legislative program (writing and debating proposals). The media program is separate and has a separate application process through the CONA administration, and acceptance is not necessarily guaranteed. IF you want to apply for Media, I need to know ASAP.
Do you plan on applying for the CONA Media program? *
Elected Positions
CONA has a number of elected positions. Most of these we can elect at a later date, but I'd like to collect nominations right now. Please read through the descriptions below and let me know whether you'd be interested in nominating yourself. You MAY nominate yourself for more than one position (but will only end up with one in the end). Please note that many positions have previous CONA experience requirements (but not all). Also, we need to select a CLC rep right away, so after taking nominations, I may just select that student (versus holding a vote).
Would you like to nominate yourself for CLC (Conference Life Committee)? In a CLC representative we are looking for the best person to serve the conference and be a conduit of information between the leadership and your delegation. This year the CLC will begin meeting virtually this month (April) and will give feedback on decisions we are making for the virtual conference. The CLC representative should have demonstrated leadership experience at the state level and have at least one year's previous experience at CONA. *
Would you like to nominate yourself for Committee Chair? Committee Chairs should have demonstrated leadership experience at the state level and have at least one year's previous experience at CONA. *
Would you like to nominate yourself for Committee Clerk? There is NO previous CONA attendance requirement to be a Committee Clerk. *
Would you like to nominate yourself for PSG (Proposal Sharing Group) Chair? PSG Chairs facilitate discussion in small groups (committees) in the 2-3 weeks PRIOR TO the conference. They should have at least one year's previous experience at CONA. *
Would you like to nominate yourself for Roundtable Chair? Roundtable Chairs lead group discussions with our state delegation at the close of each day. They should have demonstrated leadership experience at the state level and have at least one year's previous experience at CONA. *
Would you like to nominate yourself for Delegation Leader? The Delegation Leader is the morale-booster of our delegation. There is NO previous CONA attendance requirement to be Delegation Leader. *
Delegation Meeting Availability
I'd like to get a meeting (either a conference call or a Zoom/(other virtual platform) meeting scheduled so that we can start discussing what this year's conference will look like, the proposal format/ideas, etc. I'm guessing that most of you have fairly wide-open schedules (due to no face-to-face classes), but some schools may be requiring synchronous classes (if so, I'm so sorry...that's not OK). Please let me know below what your availability would be.
Please list below any days/times that you are NOT available for a call/virtual meeting to discuss CONA between Monday, April 20 and Friday, May 1. *
What is the earliest time you'd be available for such a call/meeting? (I promise it won't be earlier than 8:00 AM...) *
What is the latest time you'd be available for such a call/meeting? (again, I promise no ungodly hours...) *
Anything Else?
A lot of information is still forthcoming, including exact dates, what platform we'll use for the conference, exact costs, payment and proposal due dates, etc (so, REALLY BIG questions). That being said...is there anything you'd like to add, or any questions you have that I can try to tackle as details get sorted out?
Acceptance of CONA Bid
