The Neighborhood Homework House Junior Staff Program is for five teens (7th-12th grade) to work as leaders in the Early Childhood or Elementary Summer Program from June 6th-10th (afternoon training) and June 14th-July 22nd. Junior Staff candidates must first complete this application and then attend a group interview. Skills & Qualifications
As a faith-based organization, the mission of Neighborhood Homework House is to partner with parents of  Azusa students to provide the tools to thrive academically and socially.

Primary Role: To support the NHH staff team in  facilitating a sustainable summer program for the students of Neighborhood Homework House while creating an engaging environment for secondary clients--volunteers and parents. Summer Junior Staff members will report directly to the Elementary Program Coordinator and will have responsibility in assisting the coordinator in implementing the activities each day. This position pays $700 for the summer.

Minimum age requirement: current 7th graders or older (must be entering 8th grade or higher in fall 2022)

Responsibilities:
Attend on-site training sessions, programming weeks, Glenkirk training sessions, and weekly meetings
Manage and coordinate large groups
Prepare summer-long materials during training week and daily supplies on programming days
Monitor the safety of groups
Learn your students’ names and promote group unity
Encourage groups towards positive behavior and participation in daily activities
Initiate and lead group ice-breakers and/or games
Assist with setup and cleanup of supplies before and/or after programming
Help students in designated reading groups
Time Commitment:
Training Dates: June 6th-10th (afternoon training)
Program Schedule: June 13th-July 15th (12:30pm-5:30pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays)
Glenkirk VBS: June 18th-22nd (9am-1:00pm, everyday)
