If you would like to request financial support - conferences and mobility - for master or doctoral students of FI, or support for foreign scientists/teachers coming for short visits at FI, fill in the request here for the year 2023:
* Mobility includes "summer" schools (typically 1 week with hard limit of 30000 (35) CZK per student per year) and/or research internships (at least 10 full days abroad with conditions and limits set by
https://is.muni.cz/auth/do/fi/uredni_deska/predpisy/opatreni/Opatreni_dekana_05_2023_stipendijni_programy.pdf?info=1 on page 11 -- these rules newly include a raise of the daily amount
(doubled) for the first 15 days in a year). Both cases are covered by a stipend, and so you have to provide full budget conforming to the rules in advance (this replaces travel forms). Wait with the application until you are all set up and accepted to the mobility (until you are sure you will go there). For 2023, we still have enough money for mobilities even from the last year, and the limits have been risen a bit (compared to 2022).
* Conference travel support is generally available for all A-ranked (or A*, of course) conferences at which the student is a co-author. BUT(!), the paper concerned must additionally conform to the rules set for conference papers in
https://bit.ly/2turaYF . Roughly, the paper must be in a seriously selective session of the conference, and not in other sessions which are easy to get in, or which are only for students. See also the internal ranking
https://www.fi.muni.cz/~smerk/firank/phd2023J.html. Conference support is paid by regular travel forms and has no hard upper limit, only a soft limit of 65000 CZK which can be discussed in exceptional (overseas) cases. Hence for conference travel it is enough to fill approximate costs / an upper bound. Alternatively, if the conference is organized online and there are associated costs with the online participation, then list the costs precisely and it will be paid through a stipend. When applying for this kind of support, wait until your paper is accepted and you may show it in the conference program.
* Besides the above cases, support is available for foreign guests coming to FI to do joint research including students of FI. The guest should also present a public seminar talk at FI. The amount of support is fixed at 3000 - 4000 CZK per day spent at FI (guest is: a student 3000, with PhD 3500, assoc. prof. or higher 4000), with a maximum of 7 paid days (can be combined with other sources). You will have to arrange the ''1746" contract with the guest yourself.
In addition to the previous traditional support of guests, we have got a NEW money source ("PPSŘ", similarly as for graduate mobilities) for foreign teachers coming to "teach" at FI - this includes regular scheduled courses and also short (block) one-time courses. This source pays on average (up to) 30000 CZK per teacher, and we collect the requests here together with other requests. However, the requests will be separately processed by Ms. Brolikova, not by me. (If you paid attention at the end of 2022, doc. Sojka was asking you about preliminary interest in this option, and it is this here.) If you are not sure whether your guest can fit into this option, apply anyway, Ms. Brolikova will look at the case, and if it does not fit into PPSŘ, we may still support your guest by the above daily allowance (asuming the guest will do at least a bit of research).
