German I Two-Year Carnegie Application
Dear Parents and Rising 7th Grade Students:

For the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, you will have the opportunity to earn high school credit with Carnegie Unit classes in World Languages.

These classes are two-year commitments, and after enrollment, the student must stay in the class for the duration of both school years. Should you be placed in the class in 7th grade, you will not have to reapply for the class for 8th grade. However, as this is a two-year course, you will not be able to apply for Spanish or German for 8th grade only. Upon successful completion of the two-year-long class, students may opt to receive Carnegie Unit credit for high school.

Class options are:
Spanish I with Ms. Koleff  (Jennifer.Koleff@gcpsk12.org)
German I with Ms. Ware (Leslie.Ware@gcpsk12.org)

Students interested in German who have not yet submitted an application should complete this form as soon as possible. Completing an application for a class does NOT guarantee acceptance.

If you are already enrolled in a yearlong program such as Band, Orchestra, or Chorus, you may still apply for another yearlong class but please note that if you are accepted into the two-year foreign language program, there will be no additional room in your schedule for other connections. If you are not already enrolled in another yearlong program, you do not have the option to choose any other connections classes, such as Art or PE. These classes will be assigned at a later date.

Please contact the teachers listed above if you have any questions regarding a specific class.

Sincerely,
Ms. Ware and Ms. Koleff
