Orahovica, Croatia 26.7. - 4.8. 2023.
The youth exchange will gather around 50 participants from Croatia, Portugal, Sweden, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Hungary and Serbia from 26 July - 4 August 2023, travel days included. In this project young people will explore the origins and historical development of women’s rights. The activities will take place in various locations in Orahovica.
Every partner should send a team of 4 participants (18-25) plus a youth leader (18+). In total, every national team will have 5 members.
The youth exchange will take place in Orahovica, Croatia. The name Orahovica is derived from the word orah, meaning a walnut tree.
Goals:
1. Explore lives of women in different areas of life
2. Explain the progress made in achieving gender equality
3. Better understanding the difference in women’s rights between Europe
and the rest of the World.
The topics we will cover are very controversial with wide-ranging opinions within society. The topics by day are:
Day 1 – introduction
Day 2 – power
Day 3 – sexuality
Day 4 – religion and revolution
Day 5 – modern women
Day 6 – 4 waves of feminism
Day 7 – producing final outputs
Day 8 – closing the project
Logistics:
The youth exchange will be held in Centre for Education of Red Cross in Orahovica. Participants will be placed in a 4-bed same-sex room. The centre will also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for all participants.
Travel:
Transportation costs will be reimbursed upon obtaining originals or
scanned invoices and boarding passes after the Youth Exchange. Travel cost for Turkish pax is 275 EUR. There will be also visa cost support.
