Expression of Interest for FUEL Summer Provision
Thank you for your interest in providing summer food and activity provisions for the Department for Education (DfE) funded Holiday Activity and Food Programme. In Kingston and Richmond, our young people have helped us name this programme FUEL (Feed Ur Everyday Lives). By completing the following form, you are letting Achieving for Children (AfC) know of your desire to be involved with the programme for Summer 2021.

Please note the deadline for completing this form is the 14th May at 12 noon

We will be asking all prospective providers to complete a grant application form in the following weeks.

The funding for this holiday activity and food programme is for children who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals. The programme can also be available to children not eligible for free school meals, which would predominantly need to be self-funded, but priority should be given to eligible children.

We are looking to offer wide access to places for children depending on local supply and demand for provision of holiday activities and food. We envisage supporting and collaborating with any existing holiday provision in the area or providers operating a bespoke, newly established model.

Provision during the summer needs to be over a period of at least 4 hours a day, 4 days a week for 4 weeks. We will however, in certain circumstances make exceptions for provision covering fewer than 4 weeks. The 4 days of session delivery do not have to run consecutively and can be delivered split across the weeks.

During the programme our key aims are that children and young people will:

- Receive at least one nutritious, healthy meal during the session
- Be provided with fun and enriching activities that provide opportunities to develop new, or build upon current skills or knowledge, or try out new experiences
- Receive at least 1 hours worth of physical activity
- Receive an element of nutritional education each day (with the family wherever possible)

As part of this provision we will ask providers to demonstrate their safeguarding arrangements, and have relevant and appropriate policies and procedures in place in relation to:

- Safeguarding
- Health and Safety
- Insurance
- accessibility and inclusiveness
- Where appropriate, sufficient Ofsted requirements for working with children.
