April Artisan Faire Demo/Display Signup
Do you have some nifty A&S thing to share with Northshield? We welcome finished projects, works in progress, demonstrations of various arts/crafts, showing off your period tools and equipment, your research, or the thing you tried that went horribly wrong (and what you learned from it)!

Documentation is not required, but we do encourage folks to have some way to share your sources or inspiration with others, so please feel free to bring books, photos, a short writeup, a list of good websites, or anything else that might help a curious person understand more about what you have been working on.

This signup form will help us with setup and make sure everyone has space. If you would like space to display your work or demonstrate a period skill or process, please fill out the information below.

How much space do you need (half of an 8-foot table, enough room for a chair and a large spinning wheel, etc.)? *
One portion of the demo/display area will be for "Period Atmosphere," an area where all visible tools and equipment are period or equivalent and the items and/or workspaces are set up in a manner similar to historical depictions (sort of like the Authentic Encampment area at some camping events)

Would you like your stuff to be in the "Period Atmosphere" portion of the demo/display area?

Hands-on Instruction
In order to keep the atmosphere relaxing and to allow artisans time to mingle, this event will not include formal classes. If you are interested in offering skill sharing or hands-on instruction, there are two teaching options:
  • Drop-in Hours:  If you would like to offer hands-on instruction at your display/demo area and will have extra materials/supplies for folks to play with, we suggest setting aside one or two blocks of time to do so and noting your "drop-in hours" on the table sign we will provide for all demos/displays. This way folks will know when to visit your table to get a hands-on experience.
  • Host a Workshop:  If you anticipate and can accommodate larger groups of learners simultaneously, or if you would like to host a collaborative workshop (e.g. spinning, cooking, dyeing, madrigal singing), there are several smaller dedicated spaces that can be made available.
Will you be offering hands-on instruction?
Clear selection
If you would like to host a workshop, what do you plan to do? What sort of space do you need (e.g. kitchen space for cooking or dyeing, open floor space for dancing)? How many people can you accommodate?
Are there any other needs or concerns we should know about for your display or demo (needs electrical outlet, kitchen space, open flame, etc.)
