Food sovereignty and the right of peoples to self-determine their agricultural system. A regional perspective for Europe.

Tuesday 4th May - 18:00 - 19:30
Online Conference - via Zoom

The session will focus on food sovereignty, understood as the right of peoples to determine the agricultural and food policies that affect them. The event pretends thus to address the intersection between the right to self-determination and the need of our current societies to develop greener and socially fairer agrifood systems. The session will be structured around three key areas related to this topic: the role of European regions in the post-2020 CAP, the necessity to develop a socially fairer a responsible agrifood system for our countries and   the obstacles and discrimination that minorities face in rural areas.
