Earth Day is April 22, 2021 and we want to make an impact! We have a limited number of Clean up kits so sign up right away!

We would normally gather together but in Covid 19 times we cannot. Therefore only people from the same household should participate and not meet up with others for this activity.  Instead we should use this as a way to stretch our Covid Boredom away and make a change in our community we will all see in the end.

Thankfully litter is not a an overwhelming problem in Spruce Avenue so we will clean up over several days. From April 22 to April 24, 2021 you can share your clean up with us on our Facebook Event page and have ideas for you in our clean up kits. Garbage can be disposed of with your regular household garbage scheduled collection.

Some items are dangerous however and you should not use the kit to pick these items up. Instead items like NEEDLES, glass, and electronics or large debris require special clean up. CALL 311 or use the 311 App to report these items.

Rules for this Clean up
> Do not pick up garbage with your bare hands, use the gloves and tongs only. Do not enter other private property to collect litter.
> Only members from the same household should clean up together and preferably in a group no more than 4. If you have a big family that is great too! you just have to take shifts or turns over different dates.
> We highly recommend you wear a mask, yes even outdoor while cleaning up because safest is always better.
> DO not socialize with other groups and stay distant from other community members.
> Participate only during daylight hours
> Have a cell phone or other phone with you at all times and with sufficient battery
>Stay hydrated at all times including hats and sun screen for sun protection.
> Keep your clothing loose and layered for warmth and colder weather and have comfortable closed toe shoes
> Only people who are in good health should participate in this physical demanding activity. This includes if you are in a vulnerable group for Covid 19.
> No person under 14 years of age should participate in the clean up on their own without adult supervision at all times.
