33rd Y95 CJLS Tri County Talent Search 2022 General Rules & Regulations
******Your biography must be supplied to the Exhibition Office with your Entry Form. Your entry will not be accepted as complete unless a biography is attached.
- Your music must be provided to the Exhibition Office by July 29th @ 4:00pm. It must be submitted on a labeled USB stick.
- Contestants will be judged on the following criteria: natural ability, quality of performance, stage presence/showmanship, audience rapport. Decisions of the contest judges are final and no discussion regarding any decision will be entered into by contest organizers at any time.
- Age limits are as follows:
---Rising Star is from ages 5-12 inclusive.
---Youth is ages 13-21 inclusive.
---Open category is from age 22 and older.
- It is recommended that an act run no less than 2 minutes and no more than 5 minutes. Any act running more than 5 minutes will be penalized by points.
- All talent show contestants must be of amateur status. Contestants may not be a member of a union connected with stage performance, may not earn more than 50% of their annual salary from performing, and may not have signed a management or booking agreement with a professional firm that is paid to secure your continuous work as a performer.
- Baton Twirlers or similar acts using batons, machetes, knives, etc will not be accepted. Fire and /or pyrotechnics are not allowed on the stage at any time.
- In any vocal solo category, instrumental accompaniment by the persons in the act or others is allowed, but must assume the pure character of accompaniment. The test shall be whether the performance would stand alone if the accompaniment were removed.
- In the instrumental solo category, accompaniment is allowed, but must assume the pure character of accompaniment, and no instrument of the same nature as the performance may be used for the accompaniment. The test shall be whether the performance would stand alone if the accompaniment were removed.
- Organizers reserve the right of final decisions on any matters pertaining to the talent show.
- A contestant may enter only once as a solo performer and only once as a member of any other group in any one category.
- All contestants in each category must be judged, and one 1st place overall winner named as well as the 2nd place overall. Other place winners in each of the categories may be named.
The Tri County Talent Search requires a minimum of 3 judges for the finals of the contest.
