Volunteer Health & Safety Protocols and Procedures Assessment
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Downtown Food Hub. Due to the nature of this public health crisis, we're particularly in need of healthy volunteers to staff our operation.

This assessment serves to help you and us evaluate your understanding of the available volunteer opportunities and the tasks asked of each position. Although it may be intimidating, and even off-putting, to be asked to take an assessment for a volunteer position, we feel it necessary to ensure the health and safety, not only of our volunteers, but our partners and the vulnerable populations we serve. Our goal is for everyone to be aware of the essential guidelines and to follow them carefully.

Position Description: Lead
The team leader for each service event will work with the coordinator to make sure all slots are filled. The Lead will ensure that all volunteers abide by the Health & Safety Protocols and Procedures including reporting their temperatures before starting their shift. Prior to activation, the leader will consult with the inventory person to create or commission a menu that reflects available resources or those that can be purchased readily within the budget, and make sure nonfood items are in stock.

Position Description: Compliance Monitor
The compliance monitor’s primary role is to make sure all participants are maintaining good food handling standards and public health protocols.The compliance monitor must have a food handler’s card and be familiar with details of the public health guidelines to be enforced in this pandemic context. The compliance monitor must be able to offer kind but clear and correct guidance on practices.
