Our apprenticeship positions are open to anyone aged 16 or over and are highly sought after, covering the huge array of different aspects of our internationally renowned farming business, as seen on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, NBC, CBS, Australia Today and many more.
Duties include livestock care, guest accommodation management, hosting educational groups, farm maintenance and administration, bee keeping and honey extraction, customer service, produce packaging and selling, sheepdog training, running virtual tours, working with visiting film crews and reporters on and off camera and much more.
Apprenticeships here start in late July and last for around 18 months until you've completed all your college paperwork, after which we encourage our apprentices to make use of our many international connections to travel abroad, work on other farms and broaden their global agricultural experience. For the right candidate, we also offer the opportunity to extend the apprenticeship to gain further qualifications working here at the farm.
Placements start in mid July and run until the September of the following year. On successful completion of the apprenticeship students will be awarded with a nationally recognised level 2 apprenticeship in customer service. You will also leave with a wide variety of practical skills including livestock care, hospitality management, power tool use, a thorough understanding on how an environmentally friendly business is run and much more.
Working here on the farm is incredibly rewarding - we are regularly told by our employees that working here has been by far the most fun and satisfying job they have ever had. It is at times also extremely hard, physical, difficult, challenging, tedious, mundane (and not to mention sometimes smelly!) work. Successful applicants will be grafters who are able to work hard and have a laugh but most importantly are passionate about taking action to combat climate change. ROLE SPECIFICS
Hours: 30 hours a week. 6 hours a day 5 days a week including alternate weekends. Occasional seasonal variation in line with farming requirements.

Skills required: No previous experience is required. We are looking for a hard worker who is able to work both inside with customers and outside in all weathers doing often physically challenging tasks. The most important attribute is a passion to do something to tackle climate change.
