Please take a moment to thoroughly read and fill out the form below. If your student is interested in taking a year-long music elective next year, you can make the appropriate selection below.
Our year-long music offerings are Choir, Band, and Orchestra. Please select in which music class(es) your student is planning to enroll. If your child is enrolling in Band or Orchestra, you must specify the instrument from the lists of available instruments for each class.
Students may select up to two performance music classes which last the entire year. If two performance music classes are selected, a student would have Choir one period and Band OR Orchestra another period, allowing them the opportunity to study each discipline full-time. If only one is selected, students will have one additional period of assigned quarter-long electives.
Bozeman Middle Schools also offer an opportunity for students to split their time between Choir and Band or Orchestra in 6th grade during one class period. A student would have 2 days of Choir and 2 days of Band/Orchestra with an alternating day on Friday. Please note that this is a big commitment, as it does require students to dedicate more time to practice outside of school. Teachers will evaluate the students at the 4-week mark to determine if they are keeping up with the requirements of both classes. If your student wants to take the Choir-Band/Orchestra split, please indicate this in the course selection.
