Primary Research: Questionnaire
Hello everyone! I am a Year 12 student conducting research for my Society and Culture Personal Interest Project on how people within the Australian queer community view companies and corporations marketing towards the group. Please note that only those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community may partake in the questionnaire and that all recorded responses will remain anonymous. How did you feel about the 2017 Australian plebiscite wherein the country was debating on the legalisation of same-sex marriage? *
In regards to the plebiscite, did it feel as if it was merely another opportunity for corporate companies and institutions to focus on marketing to the community in an attempt to expand their business? *
Continuing from the last question, do you view this as another stepping stone towards the community’s acceptance? *
Have you had any experiences with events, such as Mardi Gras, celebrating or commemorating the queer community? *
What are you opinions on the methods of companies advertising towards and for the queer community during Pride Month? *
Do you feel as though such events (Mardis Gras, Pride Month, etc.) have become more commercialised rather than celebratory of the community’s acceptance? *
