• What is APPL?
APPL stands for Ashwaubenon Preschool and Parent Learning program. The program runs for children ages 2 – 5 years. Children older than 24 months attend the preschool portion without their parent. Children younger than 24 months are more than welcome to stay with a parent in the parent discussion room. Weekly classes are offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. as well as Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Families choose one day per week to attend. Sessions are 10 weeks long. Three sessions are offered for the morning classes and two sessions are offered for the evening classes throughout the year. The first 30 minutes of class parents and children participate in PACT (parent and child together) time. Afterwards, for the next 90 minutes, kids and parents go to two different rooms. Children attend preschool with our experienced teachers. Parents, grandparents or caregivers participate in a parenting discussion group led by a parent educator.
