January Day 2024 Application

January Day will take place in-person on Wednesday, January 10th. CELTSS envisions January Day 2024 as an opportunity to engage in conversation around the theme of engaged learning and other topics in the broader field of teaching and learning. We hope to receive submissions from a wide range of disciplinary perspectives, and encourage interdisciplinary proposals as well as those from experts in student affairs, mental health services, and other campus units. Session format (please select one)

Individual/pair presentation proposal: A 55-minute live session involving an individual or pair presentation (40 minutes total presentation time) followed by Q and A (15 minutes).

Panel presentation proposal: A 55-minute live session involving a panel focused on a specific theme (40-minute total presentation time) followed by Q and A (15 minutes).

Workshop proposal: A 90-minute live session with a hands-on component intended to produce a tangible product or emerging skill. Participants will register in advance for the workshop and may be asked to prepare for it by engaging in advance reading, asynchronous discussion, writing, or other work. Past proposals in this category include workshops in which facilitators have: introduced faculty to a particular digital tool and provide scaffolding for them to design a way to integrate into one of their courses, guided faculty through an equity and transparency review of policies and other elements of their course syllabus, etc.….
