This spring scholastic tournament is welcoming all K-12 chess enthusiasts. Specifically, this is a perfect practical opportunity to those in K-6 grades at beginner or intermediate chess level playing upcoming National Elementary in Columbus, OH

Chess sets and clocks are provided. 
 
Format: 4 Round Swiss, no elimination, 1 half-point bye allowed if declared before round 1. Games are USCF-rated for Championship, U900, U600, U300 sections which require current US Chess membership. Games are not USCF rated in Nonrated sections which do not require US Chess membership. 

Time Control: G45, d5 for K-12 Championship section; G30, d5 for other sections. Round 1 starts at 10 am for ALL sections. Lunch break is given between round 1 & round 2. Check out specific section's schedule on site. 

Sections: K-12 Championship, K-8 U900, K-6 U600, K-6 U300, K-3 Nonrated, 4-6 Nonrated

Awards: trophies for top 4 individual finishers and anyone scoring 2.5 out of 4 in each section. Medals for all. 

Entry Fee: $30 before April 6th, then $40 until April 12th, $50 on site. Refund is promised if withdrawal before round 1 starts. On site cash ONLY. We don't accept credit cards.
