Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us on the farm!
Volunteers are crucial to our operations, and ability to serve our community in an impactful way. In order to make sure your time on the farm is spent well for both you and us, we have put together a volunteer guide, along with a few questions to help us plan for your volunteer shift(s).

Farm@goodsamatlanta.org OUR MISSION
The Farm at Good Sam is apart of the Good Samaritan Health Center, a nonprofit organization aiming to spread Christ's love through quality healthcare to those in need. The farm plays into this mission by offering healthy produce options to the patients of the Good Samaritan Health Center, as well as the community, which is in a designated food desert. With a responsibility to grow 10,000 lbs. of produce a year, and a market that is open 4 days a week, efficiency is one of our core values. We are happy to answer questions you may have during your volunteer shift, and we also want you to have a good time, but know that some days can get fast-paced.
TIME COMMITMENT
We start all of our volunteers working two hour shifts in the morning or early afternoon. We typically find this to be a solid amount of time before folks tucker out! For reoccurring volunteers, we welcome the opportunity to stick around longer, if there is the desire. We do ask that volunteers commit to at least two full two hours, for planning purposes.
WHAT TO WEAR
There are numerous different activities we could use help with on the farm; from pulling weeds, to harvesting. Some of these activities may involve brushing up against itchy or irritating plants. There is also a presence of fire ant beds, and other bugs. We strongly suggest wearing long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and close-toed shoes to your volunteer shift. Even when it is hot, you can find us with our long layers on to protect us from the sun. Gardening gloves are provided.
WHERE TO GO
-We are located on the property of The Good Samaritan Health clinic at 1015 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy. NW Atlanta, GA 30318
-The Farm is located in the back corner of the clinic's parking lot. Look for the split railed fencing, and park at either end of that fence. From there you will find one of our two entrances. We are a small farm, and should be easy to find. If you have trouble finding us, come look in the greenhouse!
COVID SAFETY
Based on the guidelines provided to us by healthcare officials, we do not require that you wear a mask while on the farm, if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19. A mask will be required to be worn when entering the health clinic to use the restrooms.
