We find it very helpful to see some of your artwork prior to your artist call. You can show us 3-20 artworks; sketchbook pages, finished pieces, WIP, anything goes basically, we don’t have anything specific we are looking for or expect to see.

Please note that an artist call is not a portfolio critique. We will reference your artwork, but we will not be critiquing each artwork in depth,  one by one, the way we do with a portfolio critique.  

You can share your artwork with us through any of the following:

- images in a Google Drive folder
- Instagram link
- Website link

Please do not email us attachments of your images.

1.  Create a folder in Google Drive and name it with your first and last name.

2. Be sure all your image files are JPGs, please do not send us HEIC files. If you have HEIC files and need to convert them,  you can do so here.

3. Upload JPG files of your artworks  into that folder. (Limit 20 images) For 3D artworks, you may submit 1-2 JPG files per artwork.

4. Rename each JPG file like this: “001.jpg.” , “002.jpg”, “003.jpg.”  This way, images are easily referenced in the call.

5. In Google Drive, right click on your folder, and select “Share."

6. In the window that pops up, go to where it says "Get link."

7. Make sure it's set to "Anyone on the internet with this link can view." If it doesn't say that, change it so it does.

8. Click "copy link."

Write a brief statement about yourself and your background as an artist. Explain your motivation, intent, creative process, and if you have any short term or long term goals. 

Upon receipt of this form and payment, Prof Lieu will email you to schedule a mutually convenient time for your artist call. Usually calls are scheduled within about a week of payment, although this is contingent upon everyone’s collective availability.

Prof Lieu will email the call link, with instructions on how to enter the call. We use Streamyard for our artist calls, the same software we use for our live streams on YouTube.

All artist calls are private, we will not record the session or post it anywhere online.

We accept rescheduling requests 24 hours in advance of your scheduled artist call. If you cancel less than 24 hours from your scheduled artist call, or do not show up for your scheduled artist call, we will not reschedule and we will not refund your payment.

If you are late to the the artist call, the amount of time you are late will count towards the artist call. For example, if your call is 60 min. long, and is scheduled to start at 1pm, and you show up at 1:15pm, your call will end at 2pm.
