Note 1: Experience has shown that due to the time, cost and effort involved in transport/arrival/departure on the first and last day the best value is obtained by groups staying for longer durations. Longer duration stays are also more likely to encounter good weather. 

Note 3: The core service includes one lodge host per lodge for at least 3 hrs each day inside the lodge. Lodge hosts can:

* Operate the lodge utilities (ie heating, water, electricity).

* Advise the groups person in charge on the operation of lodge kitchen and other lodge amenities.

* Assist the groups person in charge to bolster the groups supervision ratio inside the lodge at key times (ie evenings and mealtimes).

Note 4: The core service includes Tukino skifield staff to operate the skifield, lifts, ski patrol and provide pre hospital emergency care on the days that the skifield is open. The core service does not include specific group monitoring or supervision. On the days that the skifield is closed the core skifield staff (including the Tukino skifield manager) may be doing skifield maintenance or on days off and/or may be offsite. If the group requires additional services (ie assistance with group supervision) there are a range of add on options that the group may choose to request.

Note 1: In all circumstances all of the occupants of a bunkroom will be part of the same group. In no circumstance will people from different groups be allocated a common bunkroom.

Note 1: In some bad weather situations even 4WD vehicles benefit from having snow chains.

Note 2: If hiring a 4WD minivan, consider naming a Tukino staff member as one of the drivers.

Note:  Due to the inherent difficulties of cooking multiple different meals in a common kitchen, we request that staff,  hosts and ski instructors staying in the respective lodge are included in food prep and eating together, the lodge will contribute food ingredients for this.

* Assist with group supervision.

* Help group members put on skis.

Cost is $120 per day per Tukino host per day the group is at Tukino.

As a guide it is suggested that a group would benefit from one Tukino host per 20 people or part thereof, although a group which contains a high proportion of its own experienced outdoor supervision may not require as many Tukino hosts. If the group desires a higher supervision ratio than that the group can provide internally, Tukino hosts can be used to assist the groups person in charge and bolster the groups supervision ratio.

Note 1: Tukino hosts will be familiar with the Tukino skifield, but may not hold formal outdoor education qualifications.

On bad weather days the ski instructor(s) can provide indoor theory instruction.
