Elective Course Descriptions
Physical Education 1 - Students will participate in a traditional PE course. This course can be take 1 time every semester if desired. This course can be repeated 1 time each semester all through middle school.

Strength & Conditioning - Students will work on skills to improve their strength & conditioning. This course can be take 1 time every semester if desired. This course can be repeated 1 time each semester all through middle school.

Teen Leadership 1-3
Learn the skills necessary to reach your goals in life. Students will learn how to build strong healthy relationships and be a leader.  Students will learn and practice strategies that promote self confidence as well as learn how to get the most out of others. STUDENTS MUST SELECT THE LOWEST NUMBERED COURSE THAT MATCHES THEIR EXPERIENCE. (For example, if you took Teen Lead in 6th grade, and you've had it just the 1 time; select Teen Lead 2 for next year.)

Art 1-2 & Advanced art
Students are taught art skills appropriate to experience level using multiple paint, clay and drawing techniques. STUDENTS MUST SELECT THE LOWEST NUMBERED COURSE THAT MATCHES THEIR EXPERIENCE. (For example, if you took Art 1 in 6th grade, and you've had it just the 1 time; select Art 2 for your next art course.) Advanced art can be repeated 1 time each semester all through middle school with approval from Mrs. Silverman.

Computers/STEM 1-3
Students are taught coding and programming skills appropriate to the level of the course and will program and fly drones in Computers 2. Computers 3 will further build upon skills learned in Computers 1 & 2. STUDENTS MUST SELECT THE LOWEST NUMBERED COURSE THAT MATCHES THEIR EXPERIENCE. (For example, if you took Computers 2 in 7th grade, and you've had it twice total; select Computers 3 for your next computer course.)

Woods 1 & Advanced Woods/Introduction to Trades
Woods 1 will teach basic safety and use of the equipment. Students will complete assigned projects appropriate to this introductory level. ALL STUDENTS MUST TAKE WOODS 1 FOR A SEMESTER BEFORE THEY CAN TAKE ADV WOODS. Advanced woods will address a broad range of topics and skills in the trades/construction industry.  This is a completely hands on experience and students will learn basic employability skills. Advanced woods can be repeated 1 time each semester all through middle school with permission from Mr. Helfmann.
