Rekindle Malaysia’s Roar: Join Us at the “Let’s Regain Our ROAR” High Tea Fundraising Forum!

Once celebrated as a rising economic power in ASEAN, Malaysia stood proudly among the "Tiger Cub Economies," alongside Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Following in the footsteps of the original "Four Asian Tigers"—South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore—Malaysia’s economic boom and industrialisation during the latter half of the 20th century positioned it as a beacon of progress and innovation.

However, in recent years, Malaysia has lost some of its competitive roar. While our neighbours continue to thrive, we have faced stagnation. The reasons behind this decline are complex: deteriorating education standards, inconsistent economic policies, unfulfilled political promises, and cultural shifts that have shaken investor confidence and weakened our long-term economic prospects.

To reclaim Malaysia's leadership in the region, we must confront these challenges head-on. A renewed focus on comprehensive political and educational reforms, as well as political accountability, is essential for sustainable growth and restoring our competitive edge in the global marketplace.

Recent developments have also highlighted the urgent need to promote interracial harmony. Malaysia’s delicate racial and cultural balance requires deeper engagement and mutual understanding of our diverse cultural and religious fabric. In response to these needs, Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM) and Inisiatif Pengislahan Pendidikan Nasional (IPPN) remain committed to fostering national unity, driving reform, and working to create a modern, inclusive Malaysia where every citizen has an equal opportunity to thrive.

To support our initiatives and expand our impact, we are organising a High Tea Fundraising Forum themed “Let’s Regain Our ROAR”, scheduled for 13th October 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM at KLSCAH, Jalan Maharajalela, Kuala Lumpur. We are honoured to feature five distinguished speakers, including Mr. Chandran Nair from the international think tank Global Institute for Tomorrow, Hong Kong, who will deliver the keynote address.

Your support can make a meaningful difference. Whether by supporting forums like this, backing educational initiatives, promoting civic engagement, or advocating for policy reforms, your contribution will help build a more inclusive and equitable Malaysia for future generations.
