As a membership based organisation the Guild collects and maintains a database(s) of basic information on all our members. This data may include the member’s name, address, email address, phone number, subscription history and bell ringing history information.

This information is used to communicate with members, to prepare the annual report, and otherwise meet any other operational requirements of the Guild (such as maintaining insurance policies, reclaiming gift aid tax refunds and maintaining peal records). It also allows the Guild to maintain a historical record of membership. It is convention to publish all members’ names and individual Guild peal records in the annual report. Officers of the Guild and tower correspondents will need to have contact details published in order to carry out their duties effectually.

The Guild is concerned about your privacy and takes active steps to protect any personal information you share with us. The information you enter on this form may be shared with Guild or District officers, committee members and relevant tower correspondents as is necessary. We process personal data on the understanding that, having provided this information, we have a “legitimate interest” in processing your data in order to provide you with periodic communications and to support you in your membership of the Guild.

You may ask to see a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we correct any errors in your data, do not use it for a particular purpose or delete it entirely. You may withdraw that consent at any time and ask us to stop the processing. We work within current CofE safeguarding guidelines and normally request a parent or guardian’s email address to communicate with young ringers under 18 years of age.
