Find a mentor
Are you struggling to plan and deliver a lesson or scheme of work?  Is your subject knowledge lacking in areas or do you just feel that you might benefit from having someone to share your ideas with and who can give you a confidence boost.

Our Textile mentors are friendly individuals willing to offer Textile teachers support, encouragement and guidance throughout their teaching experiences; if this is something you feel you may benefit from, please fill out the form below. Providing us with detailed answers will help ensure a positive experience for both yourself and your mentor.
Email *
First and last name *
Why are you looking for a mentor? (If you have specific queries that might be resolved by just one mentoring session, this will help us get you to the right person straight away). *
Which exam board/s and qualification/s does your school currently offer?  Are there any plans to change this provision?  If so, please specify the intended changes. *
Name and address of current employment (this information can be useful in pairing you with appropriate mentors when you might benefit from a site visit). *
Provide some information about your teaching background:– How long have you been teaching?– What subjects/qualifications do you have experience in teaching? *
How much time you would be able to dedicate to the mentoring process (please note, there is no right answer to this question – we will try our best to accommodate your needs!). *
Provide a brief overview of your employment history; please state where you have worked and the job roles you have undertaken within that employment, as well as how many months/years experience you have for each.
Please note, our mentors are experienced professionals who have freely and kindly volunteered their time to support you.
They are not trained professionals in mentorship. Their role is not to make decisions for you or to provide you with their own examples; but to offer encouragement for your own positive choices, promote high self-esteem, support academic achievements and introduce new ideas.  We are focused as a support group for Textile teachers. The mission of the Textile Skills Centre is simply ‘better textiles teaching’.
