Food. Bring more food than you need, after a smooth trip, you should have plenty of food and water that would be especially valuable in case of an emergency. Energy bars can be a good solution, since they have a lot of calories and weigh little.

Warm clothes and for rain. Although the forecast is good in the mountains, the weather is very variable and can change radically unexpectedly. Don't trust yourself.
Solar protection This includes sunglasses, sun protection creams, hat / hat for any excursion both in summer and winter.
Footwear In the case of hiking, they will have to be mountain boots with single adherent and drawing and that take the ankle. The new boots should be softened so that they do not make a worm, we recommend short walks before a demanding excursion. We recommend waterproof shoes and in case of abundant rains and mud prediction leggings are very helpful to keep your feet dry. In snowy terrain the leggings will be indispensable.
It is mandatory to wear a suitable footwear for the activity you are going to do. Do not carry the recommended footwear may involve the non-participation of the activity, it is a risk to the person and the group.

If you come with Wild Catalunya, it is unlikely that you get lost or injured, but as it is easy to disorient in the mountain, we recommend you always carry a map, compass, whistle and First Aid Kit.

Remember: The one who says that never gets lost on the mountain, is because doesn't go.

Map. Knowing the topography around you is essential to know where you are going and not to lose yourself, you need to study the route beforehand, look for variants and escapes in the event of unexpected events. Normally, the best mountain map is a topographic, with curves of level, and it is also advisable to take a tour guide that you will do (or photocopies).
Compass A map is very useful, but in case you miss out on the combination with the compass, they will let you know if you know how to use it.
Whistle. In the event of losing yourself, a whistle will help you find yourself and that you return to the group, your only one arrives more far than a shout, especially in bad weather conditions, and makes you feel less.

Remember that the guide / organizer is not a doctor.

Miscellaneous Items:
Knife or multi-use tool with multiple utensils.
Lantern or front. In the simplest excursion you can have misfortunes and make yourself at night. A flashlight is fine, a front is more practical as you can have your hands free. Do not forget bulbs and spare batteries stored in a plastic bag so that they do not get damaged. Remember batteries and / or charged batteries.
Lamps or lighter. Actually, that means warmth. In the case of an emergency where you have to stay overnight in the mountains, if you have matches or a lighter, you can turn on a fire to keep you warm.

Toilet paper / paper handkerchiefs.

Plan your activity in advance and look well equipped
Simplify Select what you will take with you, take into account the elements that we have discussed before and plan the activity thinking about the impact on the environment.
Use the designated paths. Whenever possible, walk in Indian row by the center of the trail, without taking shortcuts and taking care of the vegetation, avoiding the formation of new paths. If you have to stop put yourself aside and let those who come after you pass without breaking the rhythm.
Respect wildlife. Treat with respect the animals and vegetables you find, you are at home. Do not give food to animals, in the forest they have everything they need and if they get used to human food they will change their habits and their nature. Do not try to touch them, they are still wild animals with unpredictable behaviors and can be transmissible diseases.
Minimal impact Respect nature and leave the place you visited as it was. Nature can not be improved so you do not leave or leave anything. Leave as little footprint as possible wherever you go, we try to leave the cleaner spaces for waste than we found them. If you want to take your memories make pictures or mental images.
Remember that the rest and camping sites are located, they are not made. Bonfires are banned in Spain, it uses a portable fireplace.
Garbage. Take away all the waste you have generated with it, remember: the organic remains are also BIODESAGRADABLES. Do not bury the trash, the animals will dig up or reappear later. Before leaving a place, take a look of recognition and verify that you have not left trash or forgotten something from the team.
Practice the "Negative Trace". Collect garbage that others may have forgotten or that they fell by accident. If you find non-civic people, inform about the philosophy and ethics of "DO NOT LEAVE" and produce the least possible impact.
Containers Avoid using aluminum foil, can, glass containers, plastic bottles ... single-use containers, should you recycle them properly. At home, it reduces weight in the backpack and trash removing all unnecessary packaging such as cardboard boxes, etc.

Not only your team is important when you are hiking. Your behavior is very important too:
Allergies, illnesses, injuries: If you have allergies, illnesses or injuries it is important to know. Allergies such as bee bites, food or medications, tell the organizer at least a couple of days before leaving to take it into account.
You go in group: you do not go alone. Have at all times controlled the people who go before and behind you. In the event you lose sight of any of them you notify the whistle even if you have to call.
You go in group: Yes, again, you do not go alone. Do not take paths that do not follow the group thinking that you know a shortcut, or go too far. If the rest of the group does not see you, you can waste your time searching for your imprudence.
You go in group: Yes, I'm a heavy man, but you do not have to be it when someone is slower than you. Patience. The speed of the group is the slowest.
