STEM Academy Application
Learner Profile: Am I a good fit for STEM Academy?
STEM Academy is designed for students who are interested and motivated to learn science, technology, engineering, and mathematics topics through a series of challenging projects and real-world applications. A learner in this program is creative, driven to explore STEM concepts, enjoys working with others on a team, and has the self-motivation to finish tasks and accomplish projects. STEM students are interested in understanding the inner workings of the world around them.

Throughout your middle and high school career STEM Academy can fulfill many different requirements. It is offered as a 2 hour block course. In 8th grade, it would take the place of your science class and an elective hour. During your high school years, it can fulfill your vocational education credit, and either your Geometry or Earth Science/Intro to Physics credit (depending on the year).

The program accommodates a maximum of 50 students per grade level. Applications will be reviewed by STEM Academy teachers, an administor, and the guidance office.

Students who have completed the KHMS program will have first consideration to continue the program the following year.
