Dear Applicant:

Future Leaders of America, Inc. “FLA” – cordially invites you to apply to our Youth Leadership Conference. This year, we are fortunate to hosts two leadership conferences:
1) July 8th – 13th, 2024 for Santa Maria Valley and Port Hueneme students and
2)  August 5th-10th, 2024 for Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Oxnard students

This challenging six-day program will be hosted at Camp Rancho El Chorro in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Through our leadership training, we hope to challenge you in such a way that you will continue to strive for higher goals and continue on your path to excellence. The program will help you develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and valuable leadership skills. You will discover not only what it means to be a student leader, but how to be a responsible citizen as well.

The cost of this week-long experience is $500, however, through generous contributions made by individuals, businesses, corporations, foundations, and government entities, we are able to charge a fee of only $50 once the applicant is accepted to the program. This $50 fee, covers the processing of the application and reserves a place for the applicant once accepted to the program. Fee waivers are available upon request.

To be considered for the FLA Youth Leadership Conference, you must meet the following requirements:

--Demonstrate a commitment to leadership and personal development
--Have a grade point average of approximately 2.8 in your school coursework. (Please contact us if you do not fulfill this requirement, but are still interested in applying).
--Complete an FLA Youth Leadership Conference application and drop it off to one of our offices, send it by mail or e-mail by May 30th. If you send it by e-mail, please send it to ylc@futureleadersnow.org  with the subject line: YLC 2024 Application - Your Full Name - Your Region  (Ex: YLC 2024 Application - Santa Maria)

Once you have completed the program, you will be a “Future Leader” and will be eligible for all FLA programs throughout high school and college. You will have access to a student network of over 9,500+ alumni willing to mentor you through your high school and college careers. You will also have the opportunity to travel throughout California and attend university seminars at such prestigious universities as UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Stanford, UC Santa Cruz, and meet nationally recognized leaders.
