The VPEA is hiring a staff of dedicated, resilient and passionate UCR student advocates to lead systemwide efforts to push the system towards transformative change. Student voices are vital towards creating necessary changes on a local and systemwide level.
 As a officer in the external office duties ranges from building coalitions across every UC campus, establishing strong policy dialogue in the State Legislature with trained student lobbyists, organizing against Regent tuition hikes and unethical investments with student activists, and combatting institutional oppression against marginalized communities through educational campaigns that promote support for urgent student resources.

ABOUT
Apply to be apart of The 2021-2022 Office of ASUCR's Vice President of External Affairs, Elysha Castillo! The External Affairs Office is tasked with bridging undergraduate UCR students towards large scale, systemwide advocacy efforts by overseeing government relations through legislative affairs and UC-wide lobbying initiatives, promoting student activism and campus solidarity actions, amplifying student civic engagement and voter participation, and pushing for labor protections and union advocacy.
This upcoming academic year, our office will work to ensure a safe transition back to in-person instruction,  
engage students in local, state and national advocacy opportunities concerning a wide range of student-based issues, while our team aims to uplift student interests to the administrative leaders of the UC system and legislators in state and federal government, while collaborating alongside campus and community partners and stakeholders to strengthen our movement for equitable student representation at UC Riverside, within the UC system, and across higher education.
