We will again be holding two separate sessions to accommodate the large number of interested students.  Students in grades 4-6 will meet on Tuesdays, and students in grades 1-3 will meet on Thursdays.  Our first semester 2 chess club meeting for gr. 4-6 will be on Tuesday, January 13, and the first meeting for students in gr. 1-3 will be on Thursday, January 16. The last classes will be on Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14.

Students will learn about the board and its pieces, as well as chess tactics.  All levels of players from beginners to advanced are welcomed.  Upcoming events (optional) include contests, school and state tournaments, clinics, and camps which may take place on weekends and holidays.  Parent emails cbe sent to inform you of times and dates of special events.

Mr. Cornelius Rubsamen will be helping us throughout the year.  We will also welcome adult/older student volunteers.  If you are able to help, or know of someone who is available to assist during our chess club sessions, please let us know.  No experience in chess playing is necessary, but assistants will need to have KS volunteer clearance.
