Ancestral Medicine is offering a limited number of scholarships for the remaining year of "Initiations: A Life of Ritual" course that started in May 2022. If you have the time, attention, and motivation to join us, and the regular sliding scale options for registration would significantly affect your ability to meet basic needs, or otherwise causes detrimental financial impact, please apply for one of the scholarship options below according to your needs.
Please consider both your current income as well as additional factors that inform your economic standing which may include (but not limited to): dependents or others who financially rely on you; financial burdens from ongoing healthcare, debt, etc; personal assets and/or outside financial support; and relative socio-economic conditions where you live compared to other nations and regions. No proof of income will be required, and any information submitted will only be shared with relevant Ancestral Medicine staff.
We endeavor to keep our offerings accessible to people from a wide range of backgrounds while also supporting Ancestral Medicine staff and our many paid course supporters. When determining who receives the available scholarships, our team will generally prioritize those whose marginalized identities have direct bearing on their finances, including but not limited to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQ+ folks, some applicants whose first language is other-than-English, lower income earners in the Global North and most people living in the Global South (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_North_and_Global_South), those serving historically marginalized communities, and those applying for an Ancestral Medicine scholarship for the first time. We are aware that exploitative capitalism, systemic oppressions, and all manner of sudden and unexpected hardship may contribute to financial burden for people of all backgrounds. We hope these scholarships can play some small role in offsetting inequality.
We encourage people to apply for scholarships early as we will review applications on a rolling basis. Most applicants will receive a reply within a week as to whether they have been approved. Scholarship applications will stay open until the Summer session begins on Saturday, July 23rd.
If you did not receive a confirmation email after submitting your application or have not heard back after a week, you can email
info@ancestralmedicine.org to verify that we have received your application. If we have already received an application from you, and you decide you can't participate, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can consider other applicants who may be waitlisted.
