Tiger Cafe is an after school support program for Newport Middle School students who are currently receiving at least one 1 or IWS in an academic standard. Tiger Cafe is held from 2:30-4pm Monday-Thursday.
School bus transportation may make limited stops, so students may have to walk home from their bus stop. We will have more information once we know how many students will need transportation. If your student will not be riding the bus, a parent or guardian must arrive prior to 4pm for pick up.
Tiger Cafe Rules and Expectations:
All School and classroom rules apply while in Tiger Cafe.
Students will come prepared to learn.
Students will bring their chromebook, a writing utensil and the work that needs to be completed.
Students will work independently and may ask for help from the Tiger Cafe staff if needed.
Students may only work together if it is needed for a group assignment. The Teacher who gave the assignment must let the Tiger Cafe staff know.
The Tiger Cafe staff may choose to have assigned seats to better serve the students and create structure in the Tiger cafe classroom.
If students are being disruptive and not following rules they will be given a warning. If it continues the student will be sent to the office and their guardian will be called.
If any student is not able to follow the rules and expectations they will not be allowed to attend Tiger Cafe for the remainder of the school year.
