School Travel Plan - Parent Survey

Please help us with our School Travel Plan by completing this short questionnaire. The aims of the School Travel Plan are:

  • Reduce the number of car trips on journeys to and from school to make the school journey safer, healthier and more sustainable.
  • Remove the barriers, both perceived and actual, to walking, cycling and using public transport for school journeys.
  • Increase the number of pupils, parents and staff choosing to walk or cycle to school.

Many thanks, the School Travel Plan committee.

If no, please briefly explain why and what would encourage you to let your child(ren) scoot/cycle to school? (eg. secure cycle storage, cycle training?)

If you currently drive your child(ren) to school what would encourage you to walk with them instead?

Would you use a Park & Stride Scheme? Park & Stride is a scheme which allows you to park somewhere more appropriate (such as a town car park) and then allows the last segment of the journey to be walked.

Where do you think would be a convenient place to park and then walk to school?

Changes to local infrastructure. Although outside the scope of the school responsibilities, we may be able to influence local council decision making. Are there any specific roads, junctions, paths, barriers etc. which you consider dangerous/inconvenient and are stopping your child walking or cycling to school?

Do you have any ideas for improving the journey to school?
