AS Level subject choice form for Grade 11 in 2024

NB: Subject choices are conditional on the IGCSE results to be released on 18 January 2024.

At IGCSE Level we study 8 subjects, but at AS Level we need to narrow down to a maximum of 4, 5 or 6 subjects for Matriculation Exemption (University entrance), with subjects chosen from the correct groupings stipulated by USAf.

GROUP 1: The IGCSE Literature in English exam will be written in May 2024. While preparing for this, all Grade 11's will be doing an English Language bridging course. After the IGCSE Literature exam the following options will be available - select one: *

English Language and Literature (students write two papers, one language paper and one literature paper)

English Language (students write two language papers)

GROUP 2 (Cambridge no longer offers A level Afrikaans, but the Universities will accept either AS Level Afrikaans language or IGCSE Afrikaans Second language for Group 2) - select one of the following: *

AS Level Afrikaans Language (Second Language)

AS Level Afrikaans language (with enrichment)

I would like to have a study line instead of Afrikaans (if i obtain more than 60% fror IGCSE Afrikaans)

I would like to study Art & Design in this line (if I obtain more than 60% for IGCSE Afrikaans)

I am currently studying a foreign language privately and intend to write the IGCSE exam in that language before the end of Grade 12.
