As you know, the Sri Lanka America Association of Southern California (SLAASC) is continuously seeking ways to support our growing community. We take pride in creating an environment that welcomes new Sri Lankan immigrants and helps them settle into their new life in Southern California.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we're initiating a collection drive for used or new household items. From furniture to electronics and everything in between, these items can significantly ease the transition for those starting afresh in a new country.
Remember, your unused or surplus items can become essential resources for someone else. Imagine the relief and comfort your old dining set or extra television could bring to a family setting up their new home. Even items that may seem small to you, like kitchen utensils or lamps, could be of immense help.
Our request is simple: look around your home for items in good condition that you no longer need and consider donating them to our cause. Not only will your contribution help new Sri Lankan immigrants feel more at home, but it's also an environmentally friendly way to rehome items you no longer use.
We firmly believe in the power of collective action. Small gestures from each of us can culminate in a significant impact, transforming lives and making our community stronger and more united.
Thank you for your continued support of SLAASC and the invaluable role you play in enriching our community.
"Together, we can make a difference!"
Thank You For Your Support,
Niroshan Kahawatte, President
