Instructions To The Monitor/Evaluator
The candidates shall be provided with a multi-story structure.
The candidates shall be given a charged hoseline with a nozzle.
The candidates shall be working as a team.
The candidates shall be informed by the evaluator which extinguishing method to be used. (direct, indirect, combination)
The candidates shall be given the instructions below before beginning the exercise.
Instructions To The Candidates
The candidates, given an a multi-story structure, a charged hoseline with a nozzle, and working as a team, shall demonstrate the procedures for attacking an interior fire utilizing the method given on an above grade floor with 100% accuracy.

Direct
Applies water directly to the base of the burning material in short bursts until fire darkens, using straight or solid stream.
Indirect
Applies water to the super heated gases at the ceiling, using a narrow fog stream, and moves the stream back and forth in short bursts until the fire darkens. (this pattern will be used from outside the fire room)
Combination
Applies water to the top of the superheated gases at the ceiling and then drops down to the burning material near the floor, using straight or solid stream using a "T" "Z" or "O" pattern in short bursts until the fire darkens.
