The 2024 MN PTA Advocacy Hunt - Challenge 4
Challenge #4 will get you information on your school district budget for this school year (2023-24).  For every answer you enter into the form, your PTA will get an entry into a drawing for a gift card or gift certificate to use in your Teacher Appreciation events in May of 2024. Only one submission will be accepted from each PTA per Challenge. 

Your Challenge 4 assignments are below:

Get some background: Learn about MN school finance and district budgets in this short video from the MN Association of School Business Officials https://www.mnasbo.org/page/sfvideo

#1 Find the link to your District’s 2023-24 budget. (MN law requires that this document is published on your school website). (Example: Edina School District)

#2 If you found your District budget for 2023-24, enter the following information:
#2A - What are the total expenditures for your District for 2023-24? 
#2B - What are the total revenues for your District for 2023-24? 
#2C - What are the total expenditures for your District’s General Fund for 2023-24?
(Examples for 2A, 2B and 2C = page 5 of Edina School District Budget)
#2D - What is the definition of “General Fund”?  
(Example for 2D = page 2 of Edina School District Budget)  
#2E - What is the total number of students for your District in 2023-24?
(Example for 2D = page 5 of Edina School District Budget).
