Moreland School District is in the process of updating the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and would like your feedback.

Below are the LCAP goals for 2020-2021. After reviewing the goals, please answer the following questions to provide us with your perspective.

Goal 1: Raise the level of success for all students while addressing learning gaps

Goal 2: Ensure effective communication with staff, students, parents, and the community

Goal 3: Attract, support, and retain exemplary staff by fostering culture that values and honors staff

Goal 4: Prepare students to become responsible citizens by providing opportunities to develop social responsibility and respect for themselves and their school, community, and world

Choose Six Actions to Prioritize *

Goal 1: Maintain grade-span class size ratios (24:1 for TK-3rd; 32:1 for 5th-8th)

Goal 1: Staff special ed services based on current caseload needs

Goal 1: Provide instructional coaching support

Goal 1: Implement the technology plan

Goal 1: Provide appropriate professional development based on academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of our students

Goal 1: Communicate and publish the continuum of elective options in grades 6-8

Goal 1: Continue to provide sites the flexibility to design intervention programs that meet their students’ needs

Goal 1: Promote differentiated instructional strategies that meet the needs of all students, including our advanced learners

Goal 1: Provide appropriate training for classified staff

Goal 1: Provide extra duty work days over the summer for primary grade assessments

Goal 1: Follow the Facilities Master Plan to provide an appropriate learning environment

Goal 1: Facilitate a district ELD committee of teachers to review instructional materials and train site staff to benefit EL learners

Goal 2: Provide Adult English classes for parents

Goal 2: Continue to utilize community liaisons/translators to bridge the home/school gap

Goal 2: Conduct the staff, parent, and student perception survey and use this data to guide the work of the district

Goal 2: Utilize various methods, technology, and social media to ensure effective communication with all staff and community

Goal 2: Update list of support services available from within the community and provide this information to parents and staff

Goal 2: Increase safety awareness, preparation, and communication through staff training and available resources to parents

Goal 3: Hire and retain highly qualified staff, ensuring that all teachers are appropriately assigned and fully credentialed

Goal 3: Review all bargaining unit salaries and adjust as appropriate through the negotiation process

Goal 3: Provide classified staff with compensation for participation in school/district operations during their non-work days to participate in meetings and collaborate with staff

Goal 3: Maintain current systems of staff recognition and identify new ways to honor individual staff contributions

Goal 3: Provide Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) for all first and second year teachers

Goal 3: Provide cross grade level collaboration during district meeting time

Goal 3: Provide teachers with data collaboration days throughout the school year

Goal 4: Continue to provide an inclusive environment for all students through anti-bullying activities, assemblies, Project Cornerstone, PBIS, AVID (at middle school sites), LGBTQ awareness, and conflict resolution practices

Goal 4: Support school sites in celebrating multicultural events and students’ diverse cultures

Goal 4: Address mental health needs of all students by providing individual counseling, group counseling, and social skills classroom lessons

Goal 4: Continue health education curriculum, including nutrition, sex education, and healthy lifestyles for appropriate grade levels

Goal 4: Continue with lunch clubs and activities with compensation

Goal 4: Provide digital safety lessons using our Common Sense Media scope and sequence

Goal 4: Provide comprehensive tiered behavior support to allow students to access the school environment
