JANUARY - 80'S DANCE

It was acceptable in the 80s and nothing’s changed now. Join Camilla, as she pump's the 80s bangers! Bring your best moves and prepare to channel your inner Jane Fonda. All lycra and leg warmers welcome.

Dancing is the ultimate mood booster! It increases levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin and studies have shown it can help reduce stress and ease anxiety. That sometimes tricky choreography might just be keeping our brain young and agile! 80's Aerobics is a fun mix of cardio and muscular strength and endurance so a real total body workout targeting all major muscle groups. The cardio is great for strengthening you heart and lungs while the muscular strength and endurance helps keep muscles and bones healthy. Targets glutes, core, arms and shoulders.




FEBRUARY - HATHA YOGA

Wednesday 3rd February, 12:30pm

Bring your best energy in this gentle-moving class, designed to awaken every muscle. Kandy will lead you between postures to build up heat in the body.

Hatha has been defined in different ways but the ones Kandy applies to her teaching are Willful and Sun/Moon, which for her means to place your focus on the breath, asana (physical posture) and state of mind to find some balance. This brings you into the present moment to non-judgmentally see how you are on all levels and address your immediate state of being.




FEBRUARY - BODYWEIGHT STRENGTH

Monday 15th February, 12pm

Looking to start your strength journey? This beginner bodyweight strength class with Temi will help you nail your technique and understanding of the key strength moves while giving you enough down time to recover between sets. Temi is the British and European deadlift record holder so you know you're in expert hands.

Strong in body, strong in mind. Building strength through resistance training can help with self-esteem. Being able to carry heavy loads with ease and smash a clean and press is great for confidence. Learning complex routines can help with brain training and memory!




After each class, there will be space to interact and talk with the instructor, as well as others from the Black Minds Matter community who join the session. If this isn't your thing, you can of course leave after the class.

All classes are suitable for all levels, with modifications provided every step of the way.
