Big Sister/Little Sister Commitment Agreement 2022-23
Ursuline Academy
Big Sister/Little Sister Mentoring Program

The purpose of the Big Sister/Little Sister mentoring program is to provide the Ursuline community with the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships rooted in the mission of the Academy and to offer a smooth transition for all freshmen as they begin their high school experience.

The Big Sister/Little Sister relationship is rooted in the Ursuline values of service, courtesy, loyalty and courage.  Big Sister/Little Sister pairs are arranged through advisement, promoting unity throughout the Academy.  The mentoring program is an opportunity for our students to build community, forge new friendships and create a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime.  All freshmen and sophomores are highly encouraged to participate in this opportunity.

The Big Sister/Little Sister mentoring program includes several school-sponsored activities to contribute to the building of community.  Participation in these activities is required for all Big/Little Sisters.

Schedule which pertains to the Little Sister:

Meet my Big Sister
Freshmen will be introduced to their Big Sister the very first full week of school during home period.  This will allow the freshmen to have an older member of the community to talk to about questions related to the transition into high school, such as schedules, lunches, school events, co-currriculars, service, faith formation, etc.

Induction of the Class of 2026- September 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
This special Ursuline tradition officially welcomes the Class of 2026 into our UA family. An invitation will be mailed to the family in the fall.  There is no cost for this event.

Big/Little Lock-In- September 15, 2022
The lock-in will be held in the new gym from 6:30-9:30 p.m.  The lock-in will be a celebration of the newly inducted freshman class and will include various games and community-building activities.  There is no cost for this event. All Bigs/Littles are required to attend this event.

Random Acts of Kindness for Littles and Bigs
Littles and Bigs have the opportunity to thank each other with cards, snacks and locker decorations.  Again, the goal is to find creative and thoughtful ways to show appreciation for each other, not to spend a lot of money.

Big Sister Mentor Award
Littles may nominate their Bigs for their outstanding job as a role model and leader.  The award will be given out at the awards ceremony in the presence of the whole school community.

The Big Sister/Little Sister program is not designed to require Bigs and Littles to spend a lot of money buying one another gifts.  No more than $25 should be spent throughout the entire school year.  This should be a fun and rewarding experience for all participants.  Its purpose is to build friendships to last a lifetime.  It requires dedication and commitment to be a Big/Little Sister.  Ursuline Academy encourages all freshmen and sophomores to participate in this unique program.  Attached is a commitment agreement.

Please complete this online agreement form by March 21, 2022.
