New Fall 2021 Mentee Application
What is First Exposures?

First Exposures is a free photography mentoring program for young people in the Bay Area, to empower young people to thrive, express themselves creatively, and become leaders in their communities. Our goal is to provide accessible arts education to diverse communities that have been historically impacted by social and economic inequality. Mentees are 11 - 18 years old and have an interest in learning photography with the help of a mentor.

First Exposures is an excellent opportunity for you to learn photography, build friendships, and have fun!

Fall Details
The theme for our Hybrid Fall 2021 classes is "What is Time?", where we will play with photographic techniques and explore different interpretations of time. Our classes will switch between being held virtually and in-person. All of our classes will be taught by instructors, using digital cameras, photo editing software, and creativity as our tools. First Exposures will teach mentees how to make powerful images, compose and light their work, and spend time with creative, fun, and supportive people of all ages.
