Volunteers in Action: 10.26.23 Success Express Event Sign Up
Who: We are partnering with Dress For Success Twin Cities, a client-focused organization offering high touch, high impact career and workplace skills development programs for low income women to help them achieve career advancement, career stability, and economic sustainability. Their mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
What: JFCS volunteers will meet with clients attending the Success Express event to hear their personal vision of success and they will have a 10-minute slot to try on items from their Confidence Kit. JFCS volunteers will prepare a personalized 10-item package for each client with tops, bottoms, dresses, one pair of shoes, scarf, and jewelry. Dress for Success Twin Cities assists individuals ages 18+ who identify as women and/or are gender expansive. We are looking for volunteers who identify as women, can help clients with very basic goal setting exercises, and then guide them through their experience on the bus opening their Confidence Kit and assisting while the client is in the dressing room, have excellent communications skills, patience, are able to navigate a few steps up to the RV, and walk between JFCS and the bus a few times.
When: Thursday, October 26 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
