MATHEMAGICAL TIMES
This summer MathAmigos and the Santa Fe Public Library have teamed up to provide an exciting interactive program for children with storytelling and engaging math activities. Topics will include identifying even and odd numbers, rounding numbers to tens, hundreds, and thousandths places, determining area and perimeter, understanding fractions, geometry, and basic arithmetic operations.  Designed to help reduce the summer slide of math skills, participants will listen to picture books with math themes read aloud and have the opportunity to complete fun activities at home alone and with family members.  They will discuss the stories and how they solved the math mysteries and share their work with other children.  Children who participate in e-learning sessions and engage in activities for most of the books (the specific number will be announced before the program starts) will be eligible for a raffle drawing of prizes.  All participants will receive a package containing supplies like dominos, a geoboard, a deck of playing cards, and sidewalk chalk.  PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 CHILDREN WHO REGISTER!
