Thanks for being interested in joining with us to divest and demilitarize UW! Below is a little about the D&D graduate-student coalition. We're asking people interested in our work to fill out this survey. It will help us follow-up with you and will clarify where you may fit within this loose coalition of like-minded people.
Currently, we are limiting our coalition to UW Seattle graduate and professional students. If you have questions or a general inquiry about our work or are interested in other ways to get involved, the best way to get in touch with us by email:

Misson
There is a rich history of abolitionist movements at the University of Washington.
Inspired by our current moment, Divest and Demilitarize UW builds upon previous
labor toward the liberation of Black, Indigenous, and students of color at the
University of Washington. We are devoted to eliminating police violence as we
collectively work towards an anti-racist, anti-colonial, and queer feminist campus.
We are committed to collaborating with other abolitionist organizers across
campuses, the country, and the globe in the struggle for freedom and justice.
About Us
We are a graduate students coalition calling for the immediate divestment and
demilitarization of the University of Washington. Our coalition formed on Seattle
Campus as part of the current abolitionist movement against the militarized police
forces that murdered Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd. We say
their names with the acknowledgement that many more remain unnamed, and
insist that honoring their deaths should not take the place of celebrating Black and
Indigenous life. Although many of us are scattered across the world right amidst
the covid-19 pandemic, we are based in the lands of the Coast Salish and
Duwamish peoples.
Divest and Demilitarize UW seeks to:
● Act as connective tissue on UW campus to amplify and support the work of
like-minded groups,
● Honor UW’s legacy of abolitionist struggle through historical
contextualization and connecting people to the movement
● Provide tangible material and volunteer support for current abolitionist
efforts in Seattle
