Cell Phone Code of Conduct 25-26’ School Year Feedback

There is, by New York State Law, a ban on student use of personal electronic devices during the school day.  This is a “bell-to-bell” ban, meaning from 8:00 AM until 2:45 PM students can no longer employ the use of:  cell phones, use headphones (unless for a class environment and synced to a Groton CSD Chromebook laptop), “earbuds” or “ear pods”, personal tablets, iPod or other MP3 players, handheld gaming devices, smart watches or wrist worn objects, in short, any electronic device that connects to the internet that has not been issued by the school.

It is essential to communicate this new area in the Code of Conduct clearly and consistently to both students and parents. By incorporating feedback from both groups during the development of these guidelines, we can foster a sense of ownership and understanding.
