DESCRIPTION OF LMUSD Bright Futures Before and After School Programs
Bright Futures operates 177 school days before and after school. Families are able to pick up earlier than closing time on any given day. These excellent programs receive funding from the Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), and After School Education and Safety (ASES) grant program. Each site is supervised by trained staff and offers a structured, engaging array of academic and enrichment activities. Each year, various partners bring special program curricula to the enrolled students. As the lead agency, the Lucia Mar Unified School District administers the program.
The students are served a nutritious supper option each day during Bright Futures depending on the school site and it's food service availability. The major focus of the program is to provide a safe, enriching, and educationally-sound environment that supplements and supports the regular school program. Homework support, enrichment activities, indoor small/large-group activities, organized outdoor and free-choice activities are offered. Specialists in music, drama, art, and physical education are also added to enhance the curriculum.
After School Program Enrollment offered:
~ Enrollment at all 11 LMUSD Elementary Schools and all 3 LMUSD Middle Schools
~ LMUSD continues to receive ELOP and ASES funding (Expanded Learning Opportunities Program / After School Education and Safety) from the state of California which allows us to fund our Before and After School Program, at no additional cost to families for the 2024-2025 school year.
Before and After School Program Registration Timeline:
May 1: After School Registration window for 2024-2025 is open for all current and future TK - 8th grade LMUSD students.
August: Parent Email Notification of Enrollment/ Wait List status depending on staff hired.

Futuros Brillantes está disponible 177 días escolares antes y después de clases. Las familias pueden recoger a sus estudiantes a cualquier momento antes que termine el día del programa. Es financiado por el programa de ampliación de oportunidades de aprendizaje (ELOP, por sus siglas en inglés) y el programa de becas de educación y seguridad después de clases (ASES, por sus siglas en inglés). Cada sitio es supervisado por personal capacitado y ofrece una gran variedad de actividades académicas y de enriquecimiento. Las agencias asociadas ofrecen planes de estudio para los estudiantes inscritos. Como líder, el Distrito Escolar Unificado Lucia Mar administra el programa.
Se ofrece un alimento nutritivo a los estudiantes que asisten a Futuros Brillantes, la opción depende del sitio y la disponibilidad de comidas. El programa se enfoca en brindar un ambiente seguro, enriquecedor y con base educativa que complemente y apoye el programa escolar regular. Se ofrece ayuda con las tareas, actividades de enriquecimiento, acividades en grupos pequeños y grandes, actividades organizadas intramuros y de opción libre. Además se agrega música, teatro, arte y educacion física para mejorar el plan de estudios.
Se ofrece inscripción en el programa después de clases:
~ En las 11 escuelas primarias y en las 3 escuelas secundarias de LMUSD.
~ LMUSD continúa recibiendo fondos de los programas ELOP y ASES (ampliación de oportunidades de aprendizaje/educación y seguridad después de clases) del estado de California y puede financiar los programas de antes y después de clases, sin costo adicional para las familias en el año escolar 2024-2025.
Línea de tiempo de las inscripciones en programas de antes y después de clases:
1 de mayo: Se abre la ventanilla de inscripciones del programa después de clases del año 2024-2025 para los estudiantes actuales y futuros de grados TK a 8 en LMUSD:
Agosto: Los padres son notificados por correo electrónico si el estudiante es inscrito/o en la lista de espera, dependiendo del personal contratado.
Los fondos son proporcionados por las subvenciones ASES y programas de ampliación de oportundiades de aprendizaje (ELOP) del Departamento de Educación de California.
Prioridad de inscripción:
Criterios de elegibilidad de ASES/ELOP (grados TK-8). 1. Estudiantes en casa hogar y sin hogar. 2. Desventtaja socioeconómica (elegibles para alimentos escolares gratis y de precio reducido). 3. Emergente multilingüe.
