Movema are looking to create a rich, fun, diverse and accessible artistic programme as part of the Active Zone at Africa Oyé!
We are looking for local artists, organisations and community groups to get involved in creating an exciting programme, by providing a workshop and/or performance. We will be prioritising applications that raise the profile and representation of art-forms and disciplines that are rooted in the African Diaspora as well as engaging with communities of the African Diaspora.
As part of the Oyé Active Zone programme we are looking for participatory workshops focusing on dance styles that are suitable for all ages but also welcome other artistic disciplines, such as music.
We have 6-8 slots available and each proposal needs to cater to a variety of abilities and audiences.
Workshops will last approximately 40 minutes and performances approximately 10-15 minutes to ensure we have enough time for transitions.
Workshop facilitators will need to lead with experience and confidence of public engagement. Audiences vary between 20 - 60 people per workshop and may not have any prior experience in the delivered art-form.
The fee available applies to 2 x practitioners and will be between £125 - £200 and this will include planning, delivery and evaluation.
Example fund allocation:
