Private Lesson Inquiry Form - Community Music School

This form is one way to help us match you with a private lesson teacher at the Community Music School!
You can fill it out for yourself or for your child/family member.

You might not receive a response until the week of August 21, since that is when our teachers will return to work, check their email, and determine their own availability for lesson times. You will hear back from asucommunitymusic@appstate.edu and/or from a teacher.

Completing this form does not register you for lessons nor reserve a lesson time, but it helps us match you with an available teacher with fewer steps!

Interested in group classes or ensembles? See all of our programs at music.appstate.edu/cms. Fill out the CMS Group Program Interest Form and we'll let you know as soon as registration opens for your group program.

A few things to consider...
  • Parking Passes: The university charges for guest parking passes between 7am-7pm on weekdays. (CMS does not profit from parking passes.) During lesson registration, students/families wishing to park during lessons can purchase a 5pm-7pm parking pass for $10/month or a 7am-7pm parking pass for $25/month. Taking the free AppalCart bus to campus is also an option. App State students or employees with existing parking passes do not need a separate one for CMS lessons.
  • In-person lessons are generally available Mondays-Thursdays 4:00-8:00 and Fridays 4:00-6:00. The specific times depend on the individual teacher's schedule. All in-person lessons are at the Broyhill Music Center at Appalachian State University.
  • A small number of teachers (mostly full-time professors) offer lessons outside these times, but in those cases, minors under 18 would need to be supervised by an adult from their family.
